Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the General Manager of Protective Services and reporting to the Fire Chief or designate, the First Deputy Fire Chief will contribute to the overall leadership of the fire department and is responsible for Fire Department Operations, Training and Public Safety and Yellowhead County’s Occupational Health and Safety Program. Focusing on but not limited to, emergency response, operational readiness of all staff and equipment including apparatus, ensuring all staff are trained to the department standard, fire investigations, fire inspections, fire prevention programs, Public Safety, the Organizations safety, and locating, assigning, and acquiring all water filling locations in Yellowhead County. The position also provides emergency response as required, assuming command as necessary and in accordance with the Yellowhead County Fire Services Standards.
Position Summary:

This position provides emergency response as required, assuming command as necessary and in accordance with the Yellowhead County Fire Services Standards.

Position Summary Reporting to the Division Chief of Training, this position involves the functional direction to staff training and is responsible to assist in the supervision of the Training Division. The Captain of Training assists with research, development, planning and coordination of a comprehensive training program for all suppression staff.
The Training Captain assists and oversees support functions (emergency and non-emergency), coordination and promotion of health and safety, research and development of training and response related policies and guidelines. The Captain of Training maintains complete records of all suppression staff training conducted and equipment used.
