What is FireCon?
For over 30 years, Emergency North Training (ENT) has delivered and continues to grow FireCon. Held annually each September in Thunder Bay, FireCon takes place at the Valhalla Hotel and Conference Centre, with off-site courses at the Thunder Bay Fire Training Centre. The event’s primary purpose is to provide comprehensive training for firefighters and emergency first responders serving municipalities, unincorporated territories, and First Nations in northwestern Ontario.
Municipal budgets in the north continue to face significant pressure to reduce costs and spending. With that in mind, the courses offered at FireCon, on a per-student basis, provide a cost-effective opportunity for your first responders to receive high-quality, recognized training. ENT prides itself on delivering programs and courses that are affordable, accessible, and attainable.
Through a strong partnership with the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal, FireCon is proud to expand the agenda this year to offer a six-day course, in addition to three five-day courses, three four-day courses, one three-day course, and one two-day course.
But FireCon is more than just training. It also hosts a professional trade show, where attendees can connect with company experts and explore the latest equipment, technologies, and services. On Saturday evening, we host our annual banquet, featuring a delicious meal, entertainment, and a chance for attendees to network with colleagues across the fire service.
The Emergency North Training Board is grateful for the collaboration with the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs, the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal, and our event sponsors, whose support helps make each FireCon a success.
