Job Description
Position Overview:
The Firefighter will be responsible for fire suppression, driving and operating fire apparatus under emergency conditions, inspecting and maintenance of related auxiliary firefighting equipment, training and development of volunteer firefighters and instructing fire prevention and public education. The firefighter will be a First Responder for medical emergencies.
Hours of work: Shift work
Compensation: As per the current KLPFFA Collective Agreement
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum high school graduate (OSSD) or college program preferred;
- NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2 preferred or equivalent firefighter training and experience;
- Must possess and maintain current certification in “Standard” First Aid with CPR Level “C”;
- Must possess a valid Class “DZ” License with a clean driving record;
- Basic computer skills are considered an asset;
- Satisfactory completion of medical examination and physical agility test;
- Must provide a clear Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
