Emergency crews are working to free a worker trapped inside a grain elevator at a farm in Lakeshore.
Lakeshore Fire and other first responders were called Thursday morning to the Agris grain facility after reports that a worker had become trapped in the structure.
Crews arrived, launching a complex rescue effort in what officials describe as a highly dangerous environment.
Firefighters on scene are providing the worker with fluids and oxygen as they continue the delicate extrication process.
Officials say the rescue is expected to take time due to the confined space and hazards associated with grain entrapment, but they remain cautiously optimistic the worker will be brought out safely later today.
No further details on the worker’s condition have been released at this time.
