CANUTEC is the Canadian Transport Emergency Centre operated by Transport Canada. CANUTEC was established in 1979 and is one of the major safety programs Transport Canada delivers to serve the public interest through the promotion of a safe and secure transportation system in Canada. CANUTEC’s vision is to promote public safety by being widely recognized leaders in the provision of chemical emergency response advice, to support preparedness and response in the transportation of dangerous goods sector across Canada.

CANUTEC’s services can be of significant value to the members of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC) in the ongoing efforts to advocate for public and firefighter safety. CANUTEC is committed to support fire departments and first responders.
