North Algona Wilberforce Township will host the Ontario Fire College’s Mobile Live Fire Training Unit from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.
Ontario has two Mobile Live Fire Training Units to enhance firefighter training across the province. These purpose built, portable training facilities are provided and operated by the Ontario Fire College (OFC).
The units use propane fired training props to provide firefighters realistic fire conditions: flames, heat, humidity, low visibility, and smoke.
More than 120 firefighters from 13 municipalities are expected to take part in the five-day training.
