Multiple Springwater Township firefighting units battled a fire at an Elmvale hardware business Saturday afternoon.
It happened just before 4 p.m. at the BMR on County Road 27 and Flos Road 8, with crews reportedly arriving to heavy smoke and flames at the back part of the building.
According to Springwater Twp.’s deputy fire chief, they made an ‘aggressive’ and ‘fast’ attack, getting the fire under control within 30 minutes. Four stations and 30 firefighters were involved in the response.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The fire is not considered suspicious, but crews are expected to continue investigating.
Springwater Twp.’s deputy fire chief says the main part of the store only received minor smoke damage and he adds that the business should be open for business ‘as normal’ on Tuesday.
