Two brushfires Friday afternoon in Hanmer kept officials busy, with one close enough to homes that a waterbomber was called in.
Deputy fire chief Jesse Oshell told CTV News that one of the fires was on Radar Road has been extinguished.
The second is on Gravel Drive, Oshell said it’s under control, but crews will be on scene for some time putting it out.
He said the fire service called on multiple resources to battle the blazes, including waterbombers from the Ministry of Natural Resources.
