Sidney Street in Belleville has reopened to traffic after two workers were rescued from a genie lift that became disabled Tuesday afternoon.
The genie lift had hit an arc from a 150,000 volt hydro line.
In a statement to Quinte News, Deputy Fire Chief Mark Shannon says Ontario Hydro isolated the lines allowing firefighters to use an aerial ladder to rescue the two workers who were taken into care by Hastings-Prince Edward paramedics.
There is no word on injuries.
Belleville police and the Ministry of Labour were on site to investigate.
Police confirmed that as of 3 p.m., Sidney Street was reopened between Tracey Street and Bell Boulevard.
