Emergency crews responded to a fire at a Barrie recycling facility Monday after there were reports of equipment catching flames inside the building.
It happened just before 2 p.m. at the Welham road facility just north of Mapleview.
“It was contained to the piece of equipment and quickly extinguished upon our arrival,” said deputy fire chief Justin Gilbert, to CTV News.
Five fire trucks were dispatched to the area. The facility was fully evacuated as a precaution, and no injuries were reported.
Crews cleared the scene shortly after ensuring the fire was out and the building was safe. Officials said the site has since been turned back over to the business.
