The Township of West Lincoln has announced Tim Hofsink as its new fire chief and community emergency management co-ordinator.

He replaces Dennis Fisher, who retired on April 25 after 32 years with the township, including the last 18 as fire chief.

Hofsink joined West Lincoln Fire and Emergency Services in 1996 as a volunteer firefighter.

He moved up the ranks to deputy chief in 2018 and served as acting chief for 16 months in 2023 and 2024.

The 50-year-old has a bachelor’s degree in justice and public safety from University of Guelph Humber, a fire officer level 3 designation from National Fire Protection Association and a community emergency management co-ordinator designation from Ontario Fire College, along with fire prevention and fire investigator certifications.
