Back in January 2018, the OAFC wrote to Ontario's previous Fire Marshal with thirteen recommendations to update the SIR (to view a copy of this letter with the thirteen recommendations, please click here).  Since then, the OAFC SIR Working Group has partnered with the Office of the Fire Marshal to update the SIR to meet the needs of Ontario's Fire Service. 

Recently we learned that the OFM will be undertaking a "Project Charter" for the SIR and updating it on their own. It is only once this work is completed that the OFM plans to consult with the OAFC.  In response to this information, the OAFC sent the below letter outlining concerns raised by our members with the Standard Incident Reporting (SIR) form, and process to update it, on May 6, 2021.
