Quinte West’s Fire Chief, John Whelan, was awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal, recognizing his exceptional service and dedication to public safety.
During a ceremony at Fire Station 1 on Saturday, Chief Whelan was presented with the medal by MPP Tyler Alsopp.
The medal was awarded in honour of his 36 years as a firefighter, along with his significant contributions to the community outside of his work.
“Chief Whelan’s dedication to the safety and well-being of the Quinte West community is an inspiration to all of us,” says Mayor Jim Harrison. “On behalf of council, I would like to congratulate Chief Whelan on this prestigious award.”
