The fire erupted shortly before 6 p.m. at a home on Yardley Avenue, in the Topham Park neighbourhood near Victoria Park and St. Clair avenues, after which it was upgraded to a two-alarm incident.
“All surrounding houses have been evacuated,” Toronto Police said in a post on X, adding that the “fire is spreading to surrounding house.”
There are no other reported injuries.
