Barrie fire crews responded to a fire at a home in the city’s south end Sunday afternoon that could have ended far worse.
The incident happened at a home on Fenchurch Manor near Priscillia’s Place. According to Barrie’s deputy fire chief, there was a large-scale response because crews initially did not know the extent of what they were responding to.
It ended up being a ‘small’ fire that caused smoke damage on the second floor. The city’s deputy fire chief said firefighters took ‘standard’ action and ventilated the roof.
No injuries were reported, and the property was returned to the owner’s possession.
The cause of the fire and total cost of the damage remain to be determined.
