In celebration of Emergency Preparedness Week, Bradford West Gwillimbury Fire and Emergency Services held its annual Open House on Wednesday at Fire Station 1, located at 77 Melbourne Dr.
The event was well attended and offered an array of activities and educational opportunities, including fire safety demonstrations and emergency preparedness booths. Attendees learned how to keep them and their families safe, thanks to information provided by fire officials as well as the South Simcoe Police Service, Red Cross, town aquatics staff, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the Bradford Women’s Institute, Vipond Sprinklers, and Simcoe County paramedics.
In addition to interactive demonstrations, guests participated in games and activities and took photos with Sparky the Fire Dog. They also had the chance to win prizes and enjoy free cotton candy from Magical Events.
Firehouse Subs Bradford and Rieker Canada sponsored the event.
