On February 23, South Glengarry Fire Services proudly accepted a donation of three sets of pet oxygen masks from the Cornwall District Kennel Club.
The masks are part of the WAG'N O2 Fur Life program, specialized equipment designed to help firefighters safely administer oxygen to cats, dogs, and other small animals suffering from smoke inhalation or respiratory distress during emergencies. Each kit includes multiple mask sizes to accommodate different animals, ensuring first responders are prepared to care for pets when seconds matter most.
The Cornwall District Kennel Club is a long-standing non-profit organization in the region, dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership, canine education, and hosting sanctioned dog shows and training events.
"We are incredibly grateful to the Cornwall District Kennel Club for this thoughtful and practical donation," said Chief Robertson. "Our firefighters regularly encounter situations where pets are part of the emergency. Having pet oxygen masks on our trucks means we are better equipped to care for every member of the family. This equipment will absolutely make a difference."
