A new face will soon helm the Puslinch Fire Department.
Approved at a Puslinch council meeting on Wednesday afternoon, Michael Chant has been appointed the interim fire chief of the Puslinch Fire Department, effective March 6.
The department's current chief, Jamie MacNeil, announced his resignation in early February after two years with the department, a decision he called "100 per cent family-driven." His last day is this Friday.
Chant previously worked for Brampton Fire and Emergency Services from 2012 to 2023, serving as the department's platoon chief for two years. He's served as Puslinch Fire's deputy fire chief of operations and training since May 2025.
