One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening physical injuries after fire broke out in a building in downtown Ayr this morning.
Waterloo regional police are assisting with the investigation after emergency services responded to a structure fire on Northumberland Street around 9:15 a.m.
The building suffered major damage.
Northumberland Street and Ayr Core remain closed as emergency responders and investigators continue to work at the scene.
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit are assisting the Ontario Fire Marshal in determining the cause of the fire.
