Ottawa firefighters helped rescue an owl that was stuck in a pickup truck.
Public Information Officer Nick DeFazio tells CTV News Ottawa the owner of the pickup truck arrived at Fire Station 33 on McCarthy Road at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, asking for help.
“The head of the bird was stuck on the grill. Firefighters were able to safely remove the owl without injury,” DeFazio said.
DeFazio said Ottawa Fire Services are known for vehicle extrications, but Wednesday’s call was “a little different.”
Once the bird was freed, and after taking a few pictures, it headed back home.
“It was placed gently on the ground and flew away,” DeFazio said.
