The first day of the month brought three new out-of-control wildfires to the Northeast Region of Ontario.
North Bay 32 is 12 hectares in size located about one km southwest of Pine Lake and North Bay 33 is 0.2 hectares and located one kilometre east of Restoule Lake. Halibuton is 0.8 hectares in size located about one kilometre southeast of North Rouge Lake.
There are now four active fires in the region. None are under control, according to the daily report from Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.
The wildland fire hazard is moderate to high across the northern portion of the Northeast Region with a few pockets of low fire hazard on the Hudson Bay coast. The central and southern portions of the region are showing a moderate to high fire hazard with an area of extreme hazard values stretching from the Kawarthas northeast to Maynooth.
