On Monday at around 10:30 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services crews responded to a call of a fire in a house in the 0-100 block of Aubin Road.
"Upon arrival, there was significant smoke and flames visible from the residential dwelling. Fire crews were able to contain the fire," the fire department said in a news release.
"Fire crews remained on scene extinguishing areas of the structure for approximately 22 hours due to structural collapse of the dwelling."
Due to significant structural damage, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
There is significant fire and smoke damage to the residential dwelling.
There were no injuries to report.
