Homes have been evacuated in the city’s south end Thursday following a natural gas leak.
According to the London Fire Department, crews are on scene in the area of Marley Place and Elmwood Avenue East early Thursday evening for a natural gas leak.
Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution while crews monitor the situation.
Enbridge gas is attending the scene.
London fire asks the public to avoid the area as Marley Place is blocked between Bruce Street and Elmwood Avenue East.
London fire says if people smell natural gas or hear a hissing sound, people are asked to leave the area immediately and move to a safe distance. People are not to operate lights, vehicles or anything that can create a spark, and once safe a safe distance away are to call 911 or their gas provider to report it.
