No injuries were reported after firefighters from Gravenhurst and Bracebridge worked together to douse a blaze on Old Portage Road Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters from all Gravenhurst stations responded to a structure fire around 5 p.m. on Jan. 4.

Bracebridge firefighters were also at the scene to provide assistance.

Tanker shuttles were used to ferry water, leading to the closure of stretches of Old Portage Road and Brydons Bay Road past Camp Shalom.

No one was home when the fire started and no injuries were reported, said Gravenhurst fire officials.

In an online post just before 10:30 a.m., the fire service said “the bulk of fire operations” had been completed and that a small fire crew and some equipment would remain at the scene overnight.

“Residents in the area may continue to see smoke and smell fire,” said Gravenhurst officials.
