A house located in one of Oro-Medonte’s new developments has caught fire once again.
Just before midnight Tuesday, Oro-Medonte Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at Bass Lake and Line 3.
Seven tankers and 35 firefighters arrived to put out the intense flames.
According to the fire chief, the blaze, fueled by high winds, posed a risk to nearby homes, but crews were able to contain it to the one residence.
The home, a new unoccupied build, is now destroyed. Officials say it is uninhabitable, with estimated damage of $1.5 million.
Investigators and police remain on site Wednesday, and the Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
On Jan. 20, firefighters informed CTV News that they found a residence fully engulfed in flames, with the fire already spreading to a neighboring unoccupied home that was still under construction in the same Bass Lake development.
