Belleville Fire Chief Dan Smith is reminding residents that fireworks are strictly prohibited in Belleville’s urban area without a permit.
This restriction includes all city-owned lands and parks.
Under the fireworks by-law, fines can be issued to people who light fireworks despite the ban.
