Ajax Fire and Emergency Services is pleased to announce that Nawrah of Da Vinci Public School is this year’s “Fire Chief for a Day”.
Nawrah’s poster illustrated her knowledge and understanding of key fire safety messages such as having working smoke alarms as well as creating and practicing a family home escape plan. Nawrah was selected from 454 submissions.
Nawrah will be picked up at her school on Tuesday, October 7 in an Ajax Fire Services vehicle and spend the afternoon as the Town’s Fire Chief.
Itinerary for October 7:
- 1 p.m. - Ajax Fire Deputy Fire Chief Shain Kimbell and Sparky to surprise Nawrah at Da Vinci Public School.
- 1:30 p.m. – Da Vinci Public School to participate in school fire drill. Chief Bhuiyan and Deputy Chief Kimbell to oversee evacuation.
- 2 p.m. - Arrive at Ajax Fire Station 1 (900 Salem Rd. N.).
- 2:30 p.m. - Chief Nawrah to meet with representatives and receive prizes from Ajax Fire and Emergency Services, Canadian Tire and McDonald’s Restaurant.
- 3 p.m. - Town Hall (65 Harwood Ave. S.) to meet with members of council.
