Electrical fire quickly contained in downtown London, prompting multi‑floor evacuation By

No injuries were reported following a late-night fire in London’s downtown core.

Crews were called to Dundas Street near Richmond Street around 11:45 p.m.

According to London fire, the fire was quickly put out, and officials say the cause is electrical, starting in a power bar under a desk.

Due to smoke, businesses on both sides of the impacted unit and all three floors of the building had to be cleared out.

Damage is estimated at $150,000.
