Crews from four fire stations responded to a residential fire on Copper Street on Sunday afternoon in Sudbury.
Crews responded to reports that a fire had spread in the home and flames could be seen around 2 p.m., the Sudbury Professional Firefighters said on their Facebook page.
“Crews from New Sudbury station were then dispatched after confirmation of the fire,” the post said, adding that crews from Minnow Lake, downtown and Long Lake joined the effort.
“Engine 4 crew quickly deployed a hose line and began suppression efforts from the interior of the residence. Other crews established a water supply, provided a roof report and isolated utilities.”
From basement to the attic
The fire appeared to originate from the basement and spread up the walls into the attic space.
“Extensive overhaul activities were needed to ensure the fire was contained and put out,” the post said.
“Searches of the residence confirmed no occupants were inside. The building, unfortunately, suffered fire, smoke, and water damage. There were no reports of injuries.”
