On Wednesday afternoon, the town of Perth came together in a moving tribute to Volunteer Firefighter Brad Fielding, who passed away suddenly September 2nd at just 35 years of age.

Under a bright, sunny sky, hundreds of residents, friends, and family lined the streets, paying their respects as members of the Perth Fire Service, the Ontario Provincial Police, and Lanark County Paramedic Services marched from the Lions Hall to the Fire Hall. Many bowed their heads, said a prayer, or shared quiet moments of reflection along the route.

Fielding’s being remembered for his is generous heart, his sense of humor, and the way he was always ready to lend a helping hand.

The procession ended at the Fire Hall, where community members gathered to share memories, offer condolences, and honour Fielding’s dedication to the town he served.

Fielding worked in quality control at Cavanagh Construction. A Cavanagh truck was parked at the fire hall alongside the service vehicles.

Fielding leaves behind his father Kevin and mother Jennifer, brother Christopher and niece Charlotte.
