We are recruiting an experienced professional to join our leadership team as the Fire Chief for the Township of Huron-Kinloss.

The preferred candidate will possess strong communications skills and be highly organized. Knowledge and skills in the safe operation of all types of fire and emergency vehicles, equipment and safety and protective devices is an asset. They will have a combination of formal training and experience related to municipal fire services with time spent in a leadership role. Excellent knowledge of the applicable legislation and codes such as Fire Protection and Prevention Act, National Fire Protection Association Codes and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Education qualifications of an ideal candidate:
• Degree or diploma in administration/management
• NFPA 1021 Fire Officer I-IV
• NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector
• NFPA 1033 Fire Investigator
• NFPA 1035 Fire and Life Safety Educator
• NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I & II
