A transport truck hauling several vehicles along Highway 400 dodged a bullet after one of its rear tires caught fire.
Police were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m. Thursday on the northbound right shoulder of Highway 400 near Dunlop Street in Barrie.
Barrie firefighters responded and worked to extinguish the blaze, clearing the scene nearly an hour later.
Ontario Provincial Police managed traffic while crews dealt with the flames, and a heavy tow truck was brought in along the highway.
Barrie Fire told CTV News that none of the other vehicles being transported appeared to have been damaged.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
