Halton Hills Fire Department launches new online program to improve safety

The Halton Hills Fire Department has launched the new Community Connect Program, a secure online platform designed to improve safety and enhance emergency response.

The program allows residents and business owners to share important details about their household with first responders, helping firefighters act more efficiently during emergencies.

Community Connect is voluntary, and participants can decide what information to share, such as whether a family member has special needs. This information becomes available to first responders at the time of dispatch, giving them a clearer picture of the situation before arriving on scene. Assistant Deputy Chief Rob Quinton encouraged residents to register, noting how valuable these details can be in improving outcomes.

The data entered into the system is fully secure and used only for emergency purposes. Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor praised the initiative, calling it “a great resource” that supports the Town’s ongoing efforts to remain a safe and healthy community.

Residents can register for Community Connect here or by stopping in at either branch of the Halton Hills Public Library for assistance.
