The Township of McMurrich/Monteith is a single tier municipality, located 2 hours north of Toronto, ON in the District of Parry Sound. This small rural municipality offers a beautiful and diverse area for recreational, leisure, agriculture and tourism opportunities.
The Township of McMurrich/Monteith is seeking a Fire Chief. The successful candidate would work 37.5-hour week and some after-hour work, as required.
The Township of Lake of Bays is pleased to announce the recruitment of a Director of Emergency Services/Fire Chief as the municipality prepares to move forward as an independent fire department following the transition period ending a shared Fire Department Administration Service Agreement.
The appointment of Director of Emergency Services/Fire Chief is a critical and pivotal step in establishing our new independent fire department. This individual will serve not only as the head of emergency operations but also as a foundational leader, shaping the department’s culture, capabilities and relationship with our community.
The Township’s three (3) fire stations are comprised of our most critical asset, our volunteer fire fighters, who exhibit the skills, qualifications and expertise to make this transition to an independent department seamless and successful. It would be remiss to not recognize the dedication and commitment that our members make day in and day out.
Position Title: Fire Chief/Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC), Full Time – 35 hours per week
Classification: Senior Management, Non-Union
Band: 8
Annual Salary: $63,718.20 - $106,178.80 (under review) with Benefits and Defined Pension Plan
Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Positions Supervised: Volunteer Firefighters
Position Description: Responsible for the management of all aspects of the Fire Department including public education on fire prevention, emergency preparedness and response, in alignment with the objectives, policies and plans set by the CAO and Council.
