There are no injuries following an overnight fire at a factory in St. Catharines.
Crews were called just before one o’clock this morning to a facility at 45 Merritt Street.
The fire broke out in a paper machine inside the building.
Fire Chief Dave Upper says it quickly spread to the roof of the building.
Crews have the fire under control but will remain on the scene during the day to extinguish hot spots.
Upper adds that the high winds made it a difficult fire to contain but crews did ‘a fantastic job.’
