A vehicle fire in a Greater Sudbury parking lot prompted an emergency response early Sunday morning.
The fire occurred in a section of the tenant parking lot at 720 Bruce Avenue, formerly the Balmoral Apartment Complex, in the city’s Flour Mill area. The complex is operated by the Greater Sudbury Housing Corporation.
“Truck fire in the parking lot,” wrote area resident Betty Ann McCue in a social media post.
“This is nuts,” commented another area resident on the post.
No injuries reported
In an email to CTV News, the Greater Sudbury Fire Chief Robert Grimwood reported that crews responded to the incident at about 4:45 a.m.
“The vehicle was not near any structures and there were no reported injuries,” wrote Grimwood.
Fire officials described the blaze as “a fully involved vehicle.”
Scene secured
“The fire was quickly brought under control and the scene left with police,” said Grimwood.
CTV News has reached out to the Greater Sudbury Police Service for more information on the incident but has yet to receive a response.
