Paddleboarder rescued from Ottawa River in east end

CTV News

The Ottawa Fire water rescue team rescued a paddleboarder on the Ottawa River in Ottawa’s east end last night.

The Ottawa Fire Services received a 9-1-1 call just after 5 p.m., reporting a paddleboarder flipped off their board and was floating down the river in the area of Blair Road.

Officials say crews made contact with the paddleboarder and brought them back to shore.

On May 17, two people were rescued from the Ottawa River after their sailboat overturned in the rapids.
