Kitchener fire looking into cause of $400K home blaze

Waterloo Region Record

Kitchener Fire Department is trying to determine the cause of a weekend fire causing $400,000 in damage.

Four fire crews responded to the residential blaze on Ahrens Street West Sunday, at 1:47 a.m., which the department said appears to have started on a covered porch.

Residents in the home were able to evacuate, the department said, and there were no injuries.

The Ontario fire marshal has not been contacted, the department said, and Waterloo Regional Police are not assisting with the incident.
