An early morning fire in downtown Windsor caused about $2 million in damage to four businesses, according to Windsor Fire and Rescue Services.
The investigation continues, the fire service said Wednesday afternoon. A stretch of Wyandotte Street between Aylmer and Marentette that was previously closed has now reopened.
Fire officials say it was reported around 1:30 a.m., and that the building is a food business.
John Smith, with Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, said part of the roof collapsed forcing firefighters to attack it from a defensive position.
The blaze also prompted police to urge citizens to close their windows due to heavy smoke.
According to Smith, there haven't been any reports of injuries related to the fire, or what caused it.
