The provincial government has invested $34,893 into Tecumseh Fire and Rescue Services through the Fire Protection Grant.

This is an effort to keep communities safe and support firefighters. The money will go to buying nine structural firefighting gear sets, which include jackets, pants, books, helmets, face covers, masks, and gloves.

“Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe, and it’s essential that they have the equipment they need to do their jobs safely and effectively,” said MPP Andrew Dowie for Windsor-Tecumseh.

“This Fire Protection Grant investment will help equip Tecumseh Fire and Rescue Services with modern, reliable protective gear, enhancing firefighter safety during emergencies when it matters most.”

Tecumseh is part of the 380 municipal fire services that will be given money through the grant.

“Firefighters are always there when we need them, running towards danger to protect our homes and our communities,” said Solicitor General Michael Kerzner.

“That is why we’re doubling this year’s Fire Protection Grant, giving even more firefighters across the province the tools they need to stay safe and effectively respond to life-threatening emergencies.”
