Firefighters up north were saluted in their efforts on Saturday as they reportedly prevented a vehicle fire from spreading to a large property.
According to the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department (MLFD), Seguin fire crews responded to a commercial vehicle fire on Rosseau Lake Road 3 Saturday morning.
The fire completely burned the spray foam truck, causing an estimated $80,000 worth of damage.
However, the MLFD adds that the ‘rapid’ response allowed them to successfully stop the fire from spready to a 6,000 square-foot cottage nearby.
“This is a perfect example of why our automatic aid agreement is so vital,” said the MLFD in a social media post. “By ensuring the closest firefighting crews respond regardless of municipal lines, our community stays safer.”
No injuries were reported in the incident and no one was displaced.
“We are incredibly grateful for Seguin’s professionalism and this lifesaving partnership,” continued the MLFD. “Today, it truly paid off.”
