NEFEC NFPP Information
As in past years, the Northern Fire Protection Program (NFPP) will provide funding support for NFPP fire departments that did not have members funded to attend FireCon 2025. The OFM will fund up to four members of a NFPP department to attend NEFEC programs from all regions. The conference registration and accommodation cost will be invoiced directly to the OFM. Any meals not covered by registration and travel will be covered at the current approved rates for NFPP.
The following OFC courses will be offered at NEFEC this year in addition to the NEFEC main track:
- Incident Command (hybrid)
- First Responder Inspector (hybrid)
When registering NFPP members who will be eligible for funding, please ensure that you write “NFPP” in the “ADDITIONAL COMMENTS” box and select INVOICE as the payment option.
A request for funding form is below and must be completed and sent to OFM Program Specialist Rob McEwan at Rob.McEwan@ontario.ca for approval by January 30, 2026. Upon approval of a training funding request form, documentation will be supplied to the member to get set up in advance for direct deposit reimbursement, this is now the only method for reimbursement of expenses and will assist in streamlining the time it takes for members to be refunded for applicable expenses after the training.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING HOTEL ROOMS THROUGH THE OAFC BY COMPLETING THE REQUEST FORM BELOW. BOOK EARLY AS THE HOTELS FILL UP FAST, THE CUT OFF DATE FOR HOTEL BOOKINGS IS FEBRUARY 6, 2026 OR UNTIL THE ROOM BLOCK IS FULL (WHICHEVER COMES FIRST). PLEASE SEND FILLED OUT REQUEST FOR ACCOMODATION FORMS TO KATELYN WIDDOP, EVENTS AND MARKETING MANAGER AT Katelyn.widdop@oafc.on.ca. OFM will be invoiced directly to cover the cost of rooms. OFM will not pay any additional charges to the rooms. A credit card is needed when checking in. NFPP members are expected to share hotel rooms and carpool where possible.
New this year: Due to a large number of cancellations in previous conferences, fire departments may be billed directly for hotel and conference fees for no-shows or cancellations in cases where a refund is not granted.
