FireCon Code of Conduct
FireCon is committed to fostering a positive experience for all participants and expects attendees to show respect and courtesy towards one another while attending FireCon. At all times during the event the Attendee shall conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner and shall comply with all applicable laws, policies, and rules of FireCon and the event venue. The Attendee shall refrain from any action(s) that will cause disruption to the event or interfere with attendee participation at the Conference and/or Trade Show.
Violation of the Agreement may result in FireCon removing the Attendee from the Conference and/or Trade Show without any recourse by the Attendee to FireCon for any fees, costs, and expenses incurred. FireCon may further disqualify the Attendee from attending or participating in any future conferences and events hosted by Emergency North Training.
1 (a). Violation of Human Rights
FireCon supports and abides by the principles articulated in the Firefighter Code of Ethics, Canadian Human Rights Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code. We do not tolerate harassment or discriminatory treatment in any form.
1 (b). Reporting
If you witness or feel that you are the subject of unacceptable behaviour or have any other general safety concerns, please notify the ENT Board (Fire Chief Chris Wood or Deputy Chief Dexter Hupe) or the OAFC (Katelyn Widdop) immediately.
FireCon Terms and Conditions
Cancellation Policy: Please note all registrations are non-refundable. Substitutions are ONLY permitted in the Leadership Track and must be done at least 14 days prior to the event.
Declaration: If I am registering on behalf of someone else, I acknowledge that I have permission to do so and am liable for any outstanding/applicable fees. I acknowledge that the FireCon shares contact information with sponsors of this event.
Registration Error Fee: Any registrations entered incorrectly may incur a $25 administration fee to correct the registration. The $25 fee is charged at the discretion of FIRECON/OAFC.
Payments: Payments in relation to events are processed by a third-party service provider. The OAFC/FIRECON assumes no liability for those using the registration function or payment function (when applicable), and the user accepts that any dispute with regard to payment or distribution or use of information collected by the payment service provider – PayPal - will be raised directly with the service provider. I understand that my credit card statement will show this transaction as "ONT ASSOC OF FIRE CHIEFS." and I will ensure that anyone who reviews the statement is aware of the transaction.
Terms and Conditions: FIRECON/OAFC holds an annual event for purposes of education and networking. FIRECON has a registration function on this website, owned, managed and maintained by the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC). Users of this registration function agree that, subject to the Privacy Policy posted on this site, their information can be used to contact them in connection with the event and any other contact deemed necessary for running its events, subject to the laws governing sound internet practices. By using the registration functions on this website, users acknowledge that the OAFC/FIRECON reserves the right to change the venue, time, and/or date of the event with reasonable notice and offer reasonable alternatives, including refunds where applicable. Cancellation of an event caused by any calamity, attack, or act of God, beyond the control of the OAFC/FIRECON and its agents does not constitute grounds for a refund. It is the user's responsibility to abide by the cancellation policy of each event. The OAFC/FIRECON reserves the right to refuse to register any individual from attending this event for any reason and is under no obligation to provide justification for such a decision.
Sharing of Personal Information with Exhibitors: By registering for this event, you acknowledge and agree that your personal information, including your first name, last name, and email address, may be shared with participating exhibitors. Exhibitors may use this information to contact you for follow-up communications, marketing purposes, or to provide additional information related to their products or services. The organizers are not responsible for how exhibitors choose to use your information once it has been shared; however, exhibitors are expected to comply with applicable data protection laws.
