Eight people are searching for a new place to stay after a fire burned through a triplex in Kitchener on Monday.
Seven Kitchener Fire trucks raced to Guelph Street around 2:30 p.m. after smoke was seen coming from the attic of the building.
According to the City of Kitchener, the roof rafters of the triplex were damaged in the fire and eight people have been displaced. Supports have been offered to the people who had been living there and one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The fire is not considered to be suspicious and the damage estimate comes in at approximately $100,000.
