Police charge 38-year-old Cambridge woman with arson following house fire

A 38-year-old Cambridge female has been arrested in relation to an early morning fire in Hespeler.

At approximately 2:10 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of a fire in the area of Adam Street and Queen Street West near the Cambridge Public Library Hespeler branch.

The Cambridge Fire Department brought the blaze under control but the house sustained significant damage. All occupants were able to evacuate, with one person being transported to local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. 

The female has been charged with Arson - Disregard for Human Life and was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing by WRPS' General Investigations Unit and the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office.
