Reporting to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chief is responsible for day-to-day management of the Fire Department staff. The Deputy Chief oversees all aspects of the department’s suppression, fire prevention, public education, and training programs. The position works very closely with all municipal staff, neighboring fire departments, government, and non-government agencies.

The Municipality of East Ferris is seeking to hire a By-Law Enforcement/Fire Prevention Officer.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and must have the physical conditioning and ability to perform the tasks associated with the duties of the position.
This position serves a dual role. As By-Law Enforcement Officer, the successful candidate is responsible for the enforcement of all Municipal by-laws, program initiatives, investigations, and handling violations. The Fire Prevention Officer is responsible for the safe and effective coordination, planning and support of all fire prevention programming, delivery of inspections and public fire and life safety education. The Fire Prevention Officer will also conduct investigations on all types of new and existing buildings to ensure conformity with government legislation and Municipal by-laws.
