Pre-Requisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Required Textbooks

• IFSTA Essentials 7 textbook.

PPE Requirements

• Approved Safety Shoes.
• Structural Firefighting ensemble (must meet or exceed NFPA 1971 with approved labels intact, and be less than 10 years old).
• Structural Firefighting Boots (CSA Z.195).
• Bunker Gear including pants, jacket, suspenders, flash hood, helmet, gloves.
• Safety Glasses.
• Current FIT test for department issued SCBA.
• SCBA – harness & facepiece.
• 2 cylinders with current hydrostatic test dates.  (3^rd cylinder is desirable where possible)
• Suitable clothing to wear under your turn-out gear; sleeveless shirts and shorts are NOT permitted at any time during the training day.
