Registration for Ontario Fire College Courses is subject to confirmation of pre-requisites through the OFM Training and Certification Portal. Your registration is not confirmed by the OAFC until verified by the OFC Registrar and returned. If you do not meet the pre-requisite and have paid by credit card you will be charged an administrative fee upon refund for the transaction. With the exception of not having the pre-requisites for a course, all FireCon registrations are non-refundable and all Ontario Fire College course registrations are also non-transferable. Note: For Exterior Attack Firefighter (Hybrid) PILOT and Incident Command (Hybrid) PILOT, only 2 firefighters per department can register for each course.
Course Description:
This comprehensive course is designed to equip firefighters with the essential skills and knowledge required to respond and operate safely and effectively in exterior or non-IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) areas of a fire scene. It focuses on exterior fire dynamics, the application of safety protocols, and gaining proficiency with the equipment used in exterior fire attacks. Firefighters will master various exterior attack techniques, optimize water application, and develop effective communication strategies for cohesive incident management. The course includes theory sessions, practical training, and scenario-based drills to ensure hands-on experience and proficiency in exterior operations.
Hybrid delivery
Students must complete the online coursework prior to the commencement of the in-class sessions. If the online learning portion and assignments are not completed and submitted on time, students will not be permitted to attend the in-class portion of the course.

Pre-Requisites:
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Required Textbooks:
- IFSTA Essentials 7 textbook.
PPE Requirements:
- Approved Safety Shoes.
- Structural Firefighting ensemble (must meet or exceed NFPA 1971 with approved labels intact, and be less than 10 years old).
- Structural Firefighting Boots (CSA Z.195).
- Bunker Gear including pants, jacket, suspenders, flash hood, helmet, gloves.
- Safety Glasses.
- Current FIT test for department issued SCBA.
- SCBA – harness & facepiece.
- 2 cylinders with current hydrostatic test dates. (3rd cylinder is desirable where possible)
- Suitable clothing to wear under your turn-out gear; sleeveless shirts and shorts are NOT permitted at any time during the training day.
5 Day Course Fee: $1,100.00 + HST
