Gravenhurst cottage lost in flames

CTV News

An early-morning fire ravaged a home at Parker’s Point near Muskoka.

Gravenhurst Fire Service was called to the fire at around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

“It was well involved when we arrived,” said Fire Chief Jared Cayley.

With mutual aid called in to assist from two other stations, more than 20 firefighters attended the raging fire.

Tanks were used to shuttle water to the hot blaze.

“The fire had been going for awhile before it was called in,” Cayley said.

There was nobody home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials had asked people to stay away from the area for most of the morning as they attended to hot spots on the property.

There was no damage estimate, although Cayley said it was a larger, secondary home.
