FSMC 022 - Emergency Management Foundations

This course provides an introductory overview of Emergency Management (EM) and includes elements of EM such as when to declare an emergency, applicable legislation, basic emergency management, site management, and the emergency operations centre. Participants will explore the phases of emergency management, including prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Scope of work and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment will be addressed.
 
This course is part of the Humber College Fire Service Executive Management Certificate program, and counts as one (1) of the six (6) elective courses required towards the certificate.
 
A minimum of 20 participants must be registered in order for the course to proceed.
